What is the 72- Hour Filmmaking Contest?
The 72-Hour Filmmaking Challenge is a subsection of the FOKUS Film Festival where participants have 72 hours to write, shoot, and edit a film. Additionally, participants will be given a list of rules (theme, prop, and quote) they must use in their film.

Contest Rules:
Groups can have 2-10 people or you can work by yourself, with at least one member being a current student at McGill. *You can register on your own and be paired with a group.*
Films may not exceed 6 minutes in length.
The given prompt must act as a plot device in some way, big or small, that moves the narrative forward.
Short films must be submitted before Sunday, March 15th at 6:00 PM EST.
The deadline to sign up is March 11th.
Films from the 72-Hour Filmmaking Contest will be evaluated by the Fokus Film Festival Coordinators for a chance to be viewed during the festival and judged by our panelists.
Participating teams that do not abide by these rules will be DISQUALIFIED from the 72-hour film race. For any questions about the challenge you may email: fokus.72hr@tvmtelevision.com.
The prompt will be communicated to all registered participants via e-mail at the start of the race.
You do not need any fancy equipment, (mobile phones are fine) although you are welcome to use whatever equipment you have access to. *TVM trained members must still follow the same equipment checkout rules (ie. contact Tech Director or Executive Producer).*
